October Fishing on the Fraser River

October Fishing on the Fraser River

October was a terrific month for salmon and sturgeon! We enjoyed fishing with many anglers from around the world, showcasing the fantastic fishery and accompanying scenery the Fraser valley has to offer.

There were plenty of coho to go around this year – many of our fly anglers were treated to the spectacular ways of the coho on the fly. Chinooks were a little on the slow side at times, which is unusual. Thousands of chum were moving into the rivers as well, which offers an interesting fishery for those who have never salmon fished before.

The Fraser’s sturgeon picked up the pace in October and began feeding heavily for the upcoming overwintering season. Plenty of good sized sturgeon showed up and there was plenty of action in between.October Sturgeon on the Fraser river
